Ventilation strategies are being given a breath of fresh air with developments at Gilberts (Blackpool).

The company, already established as Britain’s leading air movement manufacturer, is expanding and restructuring its commercial team as part of a strategy to give architects, specifiers and M&E consultants an enhanced specialist service. The first phase is now under way, with the promotion of Pete Sedgwick to national sales manager, and the appointment of Seb Rowe as northern area sales manager.

Pete, 54, from Sutton Coldfield, has been with Gilberts for almost 20 years, so brings a raft of brand, product and industry expertise to his new role. Seb, 31, from Otley, West Yorkshire, joins Gilberts from within the HVAC and air movement industry.

“Gilberts’ has a reputation for its quality, bespoke service and its ability to address and solve, in-house, complex air movement strategies, be they mechanical, natural, heat recovery or any combination,” observes sales director Ian Rogers. “The appointments of Pete and Seb enable us to build on our strengths and deliver even better support to customers, existing and new.”

The developments within the sales team are just part of major innovation at Gilberts. Within the past year the company has opened a new air movement test centre which is the only one of its kind available in-house among ventilation manufacturers, developed a new range of terminals which fuse natural ventilation and heat transfer without the need for an exchanger, and created a bespoke solution to mimic air movement within a tropical rain forest

Family-owned, Gilberts has grown in two generations into one of the UK’s biggest air movement companies, employing almost 300 people at its 80,000ft² head office and manufacturing facility in Blackpool. The company is unique in manufacturing every component in house- even as far as designing and engineering its own tools and dies in our own tool making facility. It is also one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of grilles and louvres, and a growing force in the design and supply of natural ventilation solutions for the commercial sector.
